We do not just make embroidered sweatshirts. We stitch the animals that carry people through the hardest years of their lives. Every order starts with a photo, and behind that photo there is always something bigger going on. Here are a few of the stories we have had the privilege of putting into thread.
What pets can be turned into an embroidered portrait?
Any of them. We have stitched dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, hamsters, birds, snakes and lizards, single pets and whole households on one piece. If your animal has a face and you have a clear photo of it, our artists can draw it. Unusual pets are some of our favourite commissions, and multi-pet designs are available on almost every product.
Miriam and Holly: "She healed my heart" 💛

Miriam brought Holly home just months after a devastating loss. She had hoped a puppy would fix things straight away. It did not work quite like that.
"I thought a puppy would mend my broken heart. It didn't, not straight away. But over time, Holly helped me laugh again. She's my little shadow and my sunshine."

We drew Holly onto a custom embroidered jumper, and Miriam sent us a photo of herself wearing it with Holly curled up at her feet. 🧵 That one went round the whole studio.
Sam and the snake squad: four scaly legends on one jumper 🐍
Four snakes, all named, all included
Not every pet has paws. Sam asked whether we could embroider all four of her snakes onto one piece, which was an easy yes.
"They each have names and personalities. People don't always get it. But when I saw them all stitched together on a sweatshirt, I felt understood."

Our artists used subtle colour shifts in the thread to give each snake its own markings rather than letting them blur into one pattern. The reaction online was something else. It is also the reason we now say yes to reptile portraits without blinking.
Emma and five hamsters: one iconic jumper 🐹

This one started in our TikTok comments. People kept asking when we would do hamsters. Then Emma sent a photo of all five of hers, and that settled it.

Small pets are harder than they look, because the features that make one hamster different from another are tiny. That is exactly why they are worth doing properly.
Lucy, Andy and Lola: how it all began 🐶
One rescue dachshund, one front room, one machine
We started Lucy & Lola in our front room with a single embroidery machine and our rescue pup Lola. She came to us from Lithuania and had never been on a walk before. She was frightened of people, of sounds, of most things.
Now she is the heartbeat of the brand. She naps on the studio floor while we pack orders, she is best friends with the entire team, and if you follow us online you have almost certainly watched her sleep through a meeting.
Our very first jumper had her face on it. We have since stitched over 200,000 pets for people all over the world, and every one of them still gets drawn the same way hers was.

Can you embroider unusual pets like snakes, reptiles or hamsters?
Yes. We have stitched snakes, lizards, hamsters, rabbits, birds, horses and plenty more. Unusual pets are among our favourite commissions. Send a clear, well lit photo and our artists will draw them the same way they draw a labrador.
Can you put several pets on one piece?
Yes, multi-pet designs are available. Send a clear individual photo of each animal rather than one group shot, so each of them can be drawn properly, and tell us in the order notes how many you would like included.
How long does a custom portrait take?
You will receive a proof to approve first, and once you are happy the piece is embroidered and shipped from our Cambridge studio. A priority upgrade is available if you are working to a deadline.
Can I ask for changes to the design?
As many as you need. You see a proof before anything is stitched and you can request unlimited edits until it looks like your pet. Nothing goes near an embroidery machine until you have approved it.
Can I have a portrait of a pet who has passed away?
Yes, and a great many of our orders are memorial pieces. Older or lower quality photos are fine to work from, and you can add a name, a date or a phrase alongside the portrait. We treat these orders with particular care.
How do I share my pet's story with you?
Add it as a note at checkout. We read every one. If we would like to feature your story on TikTok, in our emails or in a post like this one, we always ask your permission first.
