That feeling is the whole reason Lucy & Lola exists. It began with one rescue dog, and has become over 200,000 hand-drawn portraits for pet parents around the world.
It all began with Lola
After we rescued Lola, I became completely obsessed with her. Like so many pet owners, she was never “just a dog,” she was family.
I started drawing her, trying to capture all the little details that made her her. Then I bought an embroidery machine and began turning those drawings into stitched portraits.
That was the beginning of Lucy & Lola.
Then CNN called, and everything changed
A few months after launching, we were featured on CNN. Orders poured in, and what began as a small creative idea became something far bigger.
Soon after, I was made redundant, so I took Lucy & Lola full time with my now husband, Andy. I drew the pets; Andy learnt to embroider every one. What started as the two of us figuring it out is now a full studio team in Cambridge.
